Note to users: Historic room revenue estimates were based exclusively on hotel room
tax (HRT) data. This tax was repealed on June 30, 2010 and BC Stats is
now basing room revenues on additional
hotel room tax (AHRT) which is only collected in certain
municipalities. The remaining room revenues are modelled based on
revenue
streams from the harmonized sales tax (HST). Until BC Stats has
had an opportunity to test the robustness of the modelled estimates from
non-AHRT
collecting vendors, room revenue estimates for July 2010 onward
should be considered preliminary and may be subject to larger than usual
revisions
and possible delays.
