Local indicators of economic activity tell us about the vitality of a community, as well as the specifics of certain activity. The Community Facts offer a comparison to provincial figures of various socio-economic indicators. Some of these indicators are: population, census characteristics, new business incorporations, bankruptcies, income assistance and employment insurance beneficiaries, construction activity, counts of business establishments, and value/taxes on a 'representative' house. This three-page snapshot in time displays a variety of data specific to each municipality and regional district. Our latest iteration in this series includes the comparison of 2001 and 2006 census data for each location.
We have put these fact sheets into a three-page Adobe Acrobat
A full paper copy --over 360 pages-- is available on request for $50 (+GST). Please contact Data Services at (250) 387-0327, or via e-mail Each of the following lists is sorted alphabetically.
Explanatory notes about the data can be found here. For additional information, check to see if the municipality or region you are researching has a web site. CivicNet lists its members. |
