British Columbia's Aboriginal people are a diverse population, spread across the
province, with many interests and issues. Current
labour characteristics for the off-reserve population are
now available between Census years. Sub-provincial profiles
provide comparisons of the socio-economic conditions of the Aboriginal peoples as well as profiles of
Aboriginal groups such as First Nations, Métis, and Status Indians using data
available from the 2006 Census. Articles and other resources
address topical issues by BC Stats staff as well as providing simple population counts for many
geographic areas. Links will take you to other useful sites for
Aboriginal information.
