Research Papers: Backgrounders and External Review
The following research papers, around the development of the Regional Socio-Economic Indices, were prepared in 1999 and 2000.
They discuss the sensitivity testing of the weights, changes made to the variables, the change in the index calculation
methodology, external reviews of the index content and methodology and descriptive presentations of the results for the first year.
The indices in their present form are slightly different than what is presented here. Data availability has changed over time and
the indices have had to be adapted.
